We are pleased to welcome our two new participants for the Fall 2021 EJWP Group beginning next month. Both from the University of Thessaly in Greece, Dimitris Kofinas, PhD, and Nikolaos (Nikos) Mellios, PhD, have backgrounds in water resources and management, and interests in modeling and the water-energy-food nexus. There are also three places remaining for our Fall Group, so get in touch today if you are a water sector organization or a young water professional seeking to build professional capacities and productive networks in the sector.
Dimitris Kofinas, PhD, of the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Thessaly is a civil engineer. His thesis was on advanced tools for urban water demand simulation and forecasting at multiple spatio-temporal scales, with the scientific supervision of EJWP Ambassador Prof. Chrysi Laspidou. His scientific interests include Mathematical Modeling, Water system Simulation Methods, Water Resources Management, Lake Modeling, Water Reuse and Reclamation and the WEF Nexus.
Nikolaos (Nikos) Mellios, PhD, Laboratory of Hydrology & Aquatic Systems Analysis, Civil Engineering Department, University of Thessaly, is a postdoctoral researcher who is also supervised by Prof. Chrysi Laspidou. His scientific interests include Water Resources Modeling and Management, Environmental Informatics, Water-Energy-Food-Land Use-Climate Nexus, and Smart Water Systems.
We look forward to getting to know Dimitris and Nikos in our programme, while tackling emerging water challenges with our colleagues around Europe.
