We are proud to welcome Phoebe Koundouri as our new EJWP Ambassador. Phoebe is a Professor in Economics in Athens, where she delivered a masterclass on the Nexus of climate change and challenges in technological innovation, during the EJWP Training Week in October. Among other positions, Phoebe is President of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE) and Chair of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UNSDSN) Global Climate Hub.
“A huge socio-economic transformation is needed for the transition to a sustainable development pathway. The mobilizer of the transition is the unprecedent pace of technological advancement that makes green and digital technologies cost efficient for massive deployment. However, without the up-skilling and re-skilling of the labor force, the technology cannot be adopted.
EJWP is crucial because its participants are focusing on water industry-related knowledge transfer and personal/professional skills development in international teams. I’m honored to be an EJWP Ambassador,” said Phoebe.
