In a globalized world where boundaries seem to fade and neither water nor climate change stop at borders, it is essential that we stand shoulder to shoulder. We need to adopt an integrated approach at a European level if we want our future to be sustainable; our water to be clean, safe and available in abundance; and our cities and communities to be future-proof and climate change resilient.
The European Junior Water Programme offers a unique opportunity to harness the talent of your junior professionals and to empower them to bring a wealth of knowledge and networking value to your organization. Their development will benefit your bottom line, expand the knowledge and expertise within your organization, and bring new energy as well as fresh new insights to your operations. Investing in your junior professionals now will not only help them to acquire the skills to cooperate at a European level, but also dramatically improve your employer brand.
Investing in your young talents is investing in a bright new future – for your organization and for Europe as a whole!
Consider the benefits
Enrolling one or several of your junior professionals is a valuable investment in the future growth of your organization. It saves you the time and resources needed to develop or run your own training programme to teach them how to cooperate at a European level. Unparalleled in Europe in terms of diversity in participants and organizations, EJWP is an excellent way to expand your knowledge base, create a network with other European participating companies, and generate exposure across all of Europe as an attractive employer. Moreover, it gives you the opportunity to have a team of EJWP participants work on a solution for specific challenges your company faces. Innovation was never more ready at hand!
Qualifying organizations are based in Europe and include water organizations, water-related companies, knowledge institutes, (central, regional and local) government administrations, utilities and NGOs. Qualifying junior professionals have 2 to 8 years of work experience, are under the age of 35, and are available at least one day a week for a period of two years for training and project activities. We ask participating organizations to facilitate a one-week programme and to contribute a project for one of the teams to work on. Travel expenses for the junior professionals should be reimbursed, and the fee for EJWP amounts to €7,500 a year.
